Working within the context of creative curriculum development for schools, and workshop modules for fine-art and design institutions, LVAC focuses on the intrinsic need to shift perspectives from conventional systems and methodologies to innovative engagements that address contemporary needs.
Our theory and practice-based sessions translate real world experiences of the arts, design and heritage management industries, blending knowledge from local and national, as well as internationally validated sources in order to introduce students to a wider and more challenging range of information. Additionally, attention is given to interactions outside the classroom – including customised field trips, studio visits, and community engagement programs with various cultural institutions, that facilitate learning through observation and doing. Similarly, our integrated curriculum development accesses the vast resources offered by visual and material culture outside the classroom.
There is a distinct relationship between school and college education and professional productivity, in the creative fields, that we would like to study and develop sustained support for. Culture, education and industry are deeply interlinked, and one of our objectives at LVAC is to adopt an inclusive approach, building accessibility, collaboration and transdisciplinary understanding into teaching frameworks.
