The project entailed networking and communication between various stakeholders and participants, including artists and researchers working with climate action, and building comprehensive programs that had aspects of display and discussion.
ARTPORT_making waves is an international curatorial practice that raises awareness about environmental issues with a focus on climate change through art exhibitions, video projects, residency programs, advisory and educational programs as well as collaborations linking the arts, science, and politics with the aim to inspire social change.
In 2017 ARTPORT_making waves launched GOOD FOOD INDIA, co-curated by Lina Vincent and Anne-Marie Melster, an international interdisciplinary incubator program featuring multi-layered projects that explored the central importance of food in human existence and that reflected the artist’s role in envisioning sustainable cultures. The initiative brought together various creative forces in urban spaces to address issues connected to food, water, and waste, and to create a platform for dialogue and collective creative action. Curatorial and design coordination is ongoing in India with the WE ARE OCEAN book series, in collaboration with Studio Anugraha, Mumbai.
