Aligning to a corporate philanthropic program, the art camp and residency involves the bringing together of artists from a wide cross-section across India, and participating onsite in the making and presentation of artworks, along with talks and workshops.
The Art in Industry program was established by Tata Steel in 1993, with a view to supporting cultural practices, and connecting diverse artists on a common platform. Annually, the event brings together eminent and emerging artists, urban contemporary artists and their counterparts practicing indigenous styles, youth, art connoisseurs and the public. Usually a four day event in the calendar of Centre for Excellence, in 2018, Lina Vincent collaborated with the CFE to organise a two week art residency that included prominent artists working with painting, sculpture, ceramic arts and installation. She returned in 2023, post the pandemic period, to curate the program that centered around the theme ‘Art for the Planet – Celebrating Diversity and Inspiring Change.’ The theme highlighted the enduring commitment of the art camp to embrace inclusivity and diversity across various dimensions.
