Curated by Lina Vincent, Travelling Plants showcases the works of four artists Karolina Grzywnowicz (Germany), Wendy Therméa (Reunion Island, France), Waylon D’souza (India), and Rashmimala (India), the culmination of a four week residency in Pondicherry, in which the artists delved deeply into the fascinating world of plants.
A trans-disciplinary project initiated and led by Goethe-Institut Chennai, the program has been realised in collaboration with Alliance Française of Madras and the French Institute of Pondicherry.Travelling Plants was showcased at the galleries of the Alliance Française of Madras through June 2024 marking the beginning of its journey around India and to Sri Lanka. The activation program is curated by Abhijit Patil, the curator of our local project Seed Stories.
The overlaps, intersections and synergies between Travelling Plants and Seed Stories will be carefully explored throughout the exhibition.
